Usually, pecans are covered with sugar or other spices to make candies, pralines, and brittles. However, to make a very yummy and delectable treat which the whole family will enjoy especially during the holidays, it is best to make chocolate covered pecans. You can also make these as your gifts by putting them inside nice-looking containers that really brings the holiday feeling to your loved ones. Chocolate covered pecans are something that everybody can enjoy. Who does not like anything covered with chocolate, anyway?…especially pecan halves.

If you want to know the ingredients, steps, and tips that you need to use and do to make chocolate pecans, read the following information.

• Prepare half a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, a couple of cups pecan halves, and three tablespoons of heavy cream.
• Prepare all the equipments and kitchen tools that you will use which are as follows: a deep pan, a medium-sized metal bowl that will fit into the pan, spoons, waxed paper, cookie sheets, stove and refrigerator.
• Mix the chocolate chips together with the thick cream in the bowl made of metal. Make sure that the two ingredients are well incorporated.
• Simmer a pan full of water and place the metal bowl with the cream and chocolate chip mixture into the pan. Melt the mixture thoroughly until it is smooth. Stir the mixture occasionally. Turn off the heat and remove the metal bowl from the pan.
• Add the pecan halves into the chocolate and cream mixture. Stir until each and every piece of nut is already well coated with the sweet mixture.
• Using a spoon, remove each chocolate coated pecan nut from the mixture and placed on a clean and dry cookie sheet covered with waxed paper. Put inside the refrigerator for 10 minutes so that the chocolate will be firm and will not melt from the pecan nuts.
